I always considered that there is a lot of Africa in my soul, that's why at this self-portrait my second head is African and my body is far from white. All the rest is based on quite real situation: the clothes, the map of Africa on the wall and even that my ideas at that time were such as in a picture, divided into sectors and in contrast colours...

The original of this work was created in 1991, and was burned down together with other pictures painted by oil during a fire outbreak in my apartment in 1993. Having restored this picture after the slide, I have not come back to oil paints any more. It is a unique case when I have made copy of my work.
