Lama from the ancient times was used by the mountain tribes as a mean of transportation, when the Incas conquer all the surrounding lands in 15h century, they thoroughly took away lamas from the locals. Hunreds of thousands animals now became the property of the Great Inca, and at the same time acquired the role in the festive rituals. Statuettes of lamas from silver were made in big number by jewelers and were popular amomg Incas society.
