Ancient tibetian book "Description of Siccim" says: "In the eastern part of Kangchenjunga, there is a treasure of salt. It is a giant white rock. Behind her there is Second snow mountain. The treasure of gold and turquoise is hidden in it. In Third mountain, there is a treasure of treasures (i.e. knowledge contained in manuscripts). In Fourth mountain, there is the treasure of armour. In Fifth mountain, the treasure of various seeds and medicines." This is why they call Kangchenjunga "The mountain of the five treasures".

At the foot of Kangchenjunga, in subtropics, many beatiful orchids are growing.
