In Russian folklore it is a huge boiling stone, "the father of all stones", which lays on Buyan island. The stone is a cloud under which there is a mighty power and there is no end of this power. The poem about the Pigeon book says: "There is Alatyr –Stone in the blue sea, many ships cross the sea and stop at this stone, the seamen take much of potion from it and send it around the world". Alatyr stone reminds a lot Chintamani, which parts are also spread all over the world.
