I have a friend, an artist Mikhail Astafiev, aka Mifodiy, he lives in Moscow. The story of this drawing is connected with him and artist Andrey Rumyantsev aka Rum. Rum painted with oil himself with pretty African girl leaned on his shoulder. He called the painting: "Rum is marrying the ethiopean girl". Then Mifodiy drew in the notebook himself pushing back Rum and the dancing along African girl. He subscribed: "no, I am marrying the ethiopean girl". So I also drew myself with burundian. That time I thought that burundians are much better than ethiopeans (look at their drums!) though ethiopean girls for sure are beautiful.
