Touch the Roots
the thinking woman
Paper, ink, 1998, 40 х 30 cm
This artwork has been inspired by the wooden sculpture. I was amazed with combination of ideally polished face and rough branches extruding from the head like horns. Later I found out that they present such sculptures to the brides wishing they dreams to come true.
I assumed that rough wood of horns symbolyze thoughts about future which are in the process of formation yet.
The form resembles some images of Isida and other gods of Egyptian pantheon, to enforce this I drew a moon between the horns. Dreams, animals, plants and peope are encoded in tapestry.
